Repression in Russia against those who oppose the full-scale invasion of Ukraine now targets minors

Prominent activists, artists and musicians will perform a charity event in support of young Russian political prisoners in Amsterdam this month.

“Foreign Agent Mulder” is described as an evening of music, film, literature and conversation aimed at raising awareness of and support for Russian teenagers who have been jailed for opposing their country’s war in Ukraine.

“Repression in Russia against those who oppose the full-scale invasion of Ukraine now targets minors,” the event’s organizers said in a press release.

“Teenagers are being sent to juvenile correctional colonies for sentences ranging from two to six years — courts ignore both their young age and the contradictory evidence of their guilt,” they said.

The program features a performance by pianist Maria Nemtsova; a reading of stories, poetry and prose by writer and artist Linor Goralik; a presentation by Amnesty International policy officer Galya Petrenko; and a video installation by filmmaker and theater director Vladlena Sandu.

Gijs Kessler, a senior research fellow at the International Institute of Social History, will moderate the event.

“Foreign Agent Mulder” takes place at 7:00 p.m. on March 14 at Uilenburger Synagogue, Amsterdam. Tickets are available here.

All ticket proceeds will be donated to young Russian political prisoners.
